This is a listing for 1 fossilized dinosaur tooth of an Eocarcharia. Unfortunately, the mesial serrations are worn away, but some of the distal serrations are left. However, this tooth has the preservation associated with the Elrhaz Formation unlike many alleged Eocarcharia that are likely Jurassic aged Afrovenator mixed into Elrhaz lots.
Eocarcharia is one of the more rare theropods from Niger. The more frequently seen teeth of the Middle Jurassic aged Afrovenator can often be mistaken for Eocarcharia as they are frequently mixed together with Suchomimus teeth, possibly to make the lot look nicer. It doesn't help that the Elrhaz Formation is very close to the two Middle Jurassic deposits, the Tiourarén and Irhazer II Formation.
