Refund policy

Fossils sales/items

All fossils have a 15-day return policy, which means you have 15 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for returns, the fossil item must be in the same condition that you received it. For any damages, to be eligible for full/partial refund, pictures of the fossil and package must be sent in an email message to sales@mesozoicmarket.com within 24 hours of delivery. Even if we do not respond within that 24 hour time frame, your refund is still eligible as we will consider the date and time the message was sent. Sending an email after the 24 hour time frame may still be eligible for a partial refund depending on the situation and circumstances.

If a fossil is damaged when you receive it, you may choose to keep the specimen and receive a partial refund which will vary depending on the condition of the specimen. We will provide you information on the amount of refund you are eligible for, and proceed from there.

If your return or refund is accepted, we will send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Non-fossil sales/items

For non-fossil merchandise shipped directly from us, we have a 20-day return policy, which means you have 20 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your non-fossil item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging.

For "print on demand" items shipping from 3rd party companies, please contact us immediately at sales@mesozoicmarket.com so we can work with the printing company to get refunds or returns settled as soon as possible. Please contact us within 30 days after receiving your item to be eligible for returns on "print on demand" items. You will also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

For "print on demand" items, please take multiple detailed photographs of the product, package, etc of the defective or damaged product as they are required as proof to be submitted to the printing companies to be eligible for refund or return.

Damages and issues

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Repaired fossils that have come loose may not be eligible for a full or partial refund depending on whether additional sections of the specimen had been damaged.

Any changes made to a fossil after receiving it will not be considered damage or responsibility on our end. For example, prepping a specimen further, restorations, or any damages from removing glued/restored sections or undoing any stabilizer/consolidant.

European Union 14 day cooling off period

Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Additional Refund Information

We will notify you once we have received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
