This is a listing for 1 good sized theropod tooth of a cf. Afrovenator. The tooth is beautifully preserved despite missing the tip. It also appears to have some sort of pathology. Unlike most teeth from this region, this specimen is not heavily fractured. Unfortunately, I don't quite understand the locale, "Effonfone" making it difficult to ascertain which formation the specimen comes from. It is possible the name was long-lost in translation.
Megalosaurids like Afrovenator are known for their mesial carinae or serrations not extending towards the base. While other theropod groups can also share this characteristics, it is one of the first traits to look for in Jurassic aged theropod teeth.
